About Eliza

I'm just your average 32 year old mom. I have 6 kids (3 of them biological). I was thin and active growing up. I at the heaviest weighted 105. I played soccer, karate and did cheering in Junior High.

After getting pregnant with my first son over 13 years ago I gained 80+ lbs. It didn't seem to matter what I tried I couldn't loose it. I was to out of shape to stick to any fitness routine. I tried slim-fast, diet pills, crash diets, sensa. I never lost big pounds like their TV and magazine ads showed. I got depressed and I am a stress eater which just made the situation worse. It wasn't long before I was up over 200 lbs.

With my last pregnancy I lost weight, almost 15 lbs by the time she was born putting me at 205 lbs. By the time she was 7 months old I had had enough. I didn't like the way I looked. I wanted to be a personal trainer and was told by family and friend that no place would EVER hire an obese trainer who couldn't do any of the things she wanted her clients to do. They were right. I was in a bad place.

I would day dream of being a thin beautiful active mom who did yoga, drank green smoothies, ran marathons and had energy to spare. But life was weighting me down. I tried to make big changes to see big results but would burn out before I even got started. I needed help.

That's when it happened. My sister invited my daughter and I out to visit her family in Michigan. Now was my chance. I studied, planned and came up with a bunch of baby steps to get me from fat, weak, depressed and unhealthy to thin, strong, happy and healthy.

This is how my beautifully holistic life was born. I want so badly to become a holistic health coach with a background in PT, Essential oils, Reflexology, Personal Training and Nutrition. (Who says I can't do it all?) I want to help other people become healthy and happy but the journey needs to start with me. Follow my blog to see my progress as I work towards this goal.

Here is me at the end of July, 2013 with my daughter, 7 months old. As you can see, there is a lot of me to love. My sister in law, all the way to the left is a personal trainer. Some day I am going to be like her.
